This week, a young man from Shefaram submitted a complaint to El Al Airlines saying that about a week ago he was subjected to a humiliating search at the Berlin airport on his way back to Israel simply because he is an Arab. According to the complaint, the young man was singled out of the line for no reason, and three El Al security men questioned him and searched his bags. During the search, the wrapping on the presents he had bought was torn and a bottle of whiskey in his bag was smashed. His laptop was confiscated and only returned to him the day before yesterday. The airline paid the young man €40 in compensation. Sources at El Al said that the young man's claims are currently under consideration.
