The UN approves six resolutions condemning Israel

After three days of discussion on the situation in the Middle East , the UN General Assembly approved six resolutions criticizing Israeli policies and calling for international efforts to renew the peace process.

UN: The disengagement plan endangers the lives of Palestinian children

The disengagement plan is raising fears: UNICEF today (August 12) said that the weapons and ammunition that Israel will leave behind it constitute a threat to the lives of Palestinian children. UNICEF reports that during the last five years of the intifada, 829 children and youth have been killed, among them 713 Palestinians.

“The settlers are throwing stones at us”

Yesterday, a special guest showed up at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem carrying two large stones. It was Maj. Gen. Tryggve Tellefsen, commander of the multinational force in Hebron. “The settlers are throwing stones at us and injuring my men,” he said, and he lodged a formal complaint.

The incident began when a UN agency in Jerusalem took control of a building in East Jerusalem owned by a person called Reuven Paul. Paul asked the court to order the UN to evacuate its employees from the building that he owned.

Senior UN official: Palestinians' patience has limits

John Dugard, a senior official with the United Nations Human Rights Commission, asked Israel to respond to the requests of the Palestinian Authority and release detainees, fearing a renewal of terrorism.

They all want to live

We are living in an age of fear, ongoing bloodshed, and terrorist attacks. This age of terror has led us to believe that the security of one party will only be exacted at the expense of the freedom of the other party, and that the other's right to exist can wait a while until we secure our own existence. Is this true?
