Christian man injures his wife and takes her jewelry because she wants to convert to Islam
A Coptic man beat his wife, causing injures and bruising all over her body, in an attempt to force her not to change her religion, after she repeatedly expressed a desire to convert to Islam.
The chief of the Heliopolis police station received a notice from a Christian civil servant, Mahasen Youssef, who said that her husband, Sameh Nabil Adib, also a Christian, had beaten her and taken some of her gold jewelry and personal belongings because she tried to convert to Islam. She had told him about her desire before, so that they could separate on amicable terms, but her husband objected because they have children. She nevertheless insisted on converting, leading her husband to beat her. He caused various injuries and a police report was filed (no. 13680/Heliopolis/administrative).
